The BBC’s award-winning spy-thriller and dark comedy, Killing Eve, is back for another season.

Based on the novel series, Villanelle by Luke Jennings, and executive produced by Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge, it tells the story of two fiercely intelligent women who are obsessed with each other and go head-to-head in a game of cat and mouse.

Season two ended quite literally with a bang, leaving fans desperate to see what lies in store for the next series. With a new writer, fresh faces and questions that need answering, here’s what you need to know about the third season of Killing Eve.

Who is in the cast of season 3?

Reprising her role as assassin Villanelle is Jodie Comer (Doctor Foster, My Mad Fat Diary). Also returning as her counterpart in the cat and mouse game, Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy, American Crime) will star again as ex-MI6 officer, Eve Polastri.

Also confirmed to return are Fiona Shaw (Fleabag, Mrs Wilson) as Carolyn Martins, Kim Bodnia (Hostages, Klassen) as Konstantin, Owen McDonnell (Woman on the Verge, Paula) as Niko Polastri and Sean Delaney (Midsomer Murders) as Kenny Stowton.

A whole host of new faces is also joining the cast for season three, including:

There has not been any official word about whether Edward Bluemel (Traitors, Sex Education) will be returning as Hugo, which could inform fans about the fate of the character following the wound to his stomach in season 2.

When will Killing Eve season 3 be released?

Unlike previous seasons of Killing Eve, which was released in the US ahead of the UK, season three will drop in the UK and the US at the same time.

In the UK, you’ll be able to watch Killing Eve season three on BBC iPlayer on Monday 13 April, and it will be available to stream from 6am each Monday.
